The Light Harvesters

As the boy came upon a clearing, golden light filled him with the warmth of a seaside day. There lay a young girl. Was she sleeping as he was? He was uncertain. The beings around her moved with deliberation. Swaying like trees in a gentle breeze as they collected pieces of light. 

Though he felt no sadness or fear, he moved carefully as to not disturb the activities. He merely watched as the trees around them stretched and grew with new life. As if they had been reawakened after a lifetime.
